This week was kind of hard for me because I missed two days. I learned bits and pieces of what we talked about those two days. We watched the obsolete man to show us why we need shared leadership and what it would be like if we did not have it. In the movie the obsolete man if you were different or believe in anything the state did not, you were to be killed or liquified. In the end the obsolete man showed that everyone is obsolete. The chairman who sentenced him was on the verge of dying and he was seen as a coward for begging to be let out. We also talked about our books and we had to come up with a big question. I choose the question How much control does the state have? Throughout the book or chapters i will be answering it along the way. During the first chapter I put that the state has full control in the book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. In the first chapter it was the state talking about how they take test tubes of embryos and alter them to make them what the state wants them to be. Such as a book lover, or not that smart. So far I do not agree with the state in this book and how much control they have over every ones life. They are like little robots almost just without the metal and gears. Overall I have been playing catch up all week and I feel that I am at a good spot right now. http://www.shmoop.com/brave-new-world/chapter-1-summary.html
